Barrington Youth Football is committed to improving the quality of life in the communities where we live and play. The program also believes in our responsibility to serve those less fortunate or in need through participation in a variety of volunteer activities meant to positively impact those in and around the greater Chicagoland area. As a program over the years we have made regular donations of used equipment and apparel to inner-city youth football programs, as well as a program for youth in Africa to educate them on the game of American football. Through these donations players that may not have been able to play football are able to participate in this great team sport.
Barrington Youth Football is committed to initiatives and efforts that will positively impact not only those we are serving or supporting but our participants as well. All of our players and coaches are encouraged to donate their time and talent in support of a wide range of community events, fund-raising efforts, and charitable causes. Examples of work activities include working in soup kitchens, packaging “care packages” for victims of natural disasters, and performing repairs and clean up at schools as part of the Big Shoulders initiative.
The concept of “giving back” is one of the cornerstones of Barrington Youth Football’s Sports Leader initiative which is meant to move beyond football to reinforce the values we are attempting to instill in our children. Starting with Respect, Humility, and Courage, our athletes are taught the qualities critical to becoming successful servant leaders.
